NFM Community

Nebraska Furniture Mart is committed to strengthening the communities that we call home.

That's why we're passionate about forging dedicated partnerships in each region and seeking out volunteer opportunities for our staff. We don't have four locations, we have four communities. Our company is made up of people who live and work in the community and we're invested in seeing those communities thrive.

We Invest in Our Local Communities

Home is what unites us. No matter who you are, where you’ve been, what you do, there’s some place that you call home. A place where you feel safe. Secure. Centered. A place where you can be yourself and build a future. At Nebraska Furniture Mart, our mission is to improve people’s lifestyles. And that mission happens at home. That’s why we are honored to support organizations that provide a home to others.

Donation Request Process

NFM Gives will continue to highlight our investments in the local communities, but going forward, NFM does not accept unsolicited donation requests. The online application will be open exclusively from June 1st to June 30th, 2025, during which we welcome applications for funding from the NFM Employee Charitable Giving Fund.

NFM Diversity & Inclusion

How Our Workplace Embraces Our Differences

Black History Month

Black History Month

Throughout February, we celebrated Black History Month! Our goal was to recognize the significance of Black history in the United States and to celebrate the diversity of our team by sharing educational content, ways you can contribute to racial and social justice, books you can read to learn more about Black history, staff spotlights and more.

Women's Month

Throughout the month of March, NFM recognized Women's History Month, a celebration of women's contributions to history, culture and society. During the month, we put the spotlight on the women at NFM who positively impact our company and communities, including NFM's founder, the legendary Mrs. B. She didn't just shape NFM into the company we know today, but she impacted the Omaha community, the home furnishings industry and the retail industry as a whole.

NFM Be You with rainbow heart - Be open. Be kind. Be you.

Pride Month

Throughout June, we celebrated Pride Month! Pride is celebrated annually in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots, and works to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ+) Americans. Pride also represents freedom of expression and freedom from social oppression. At NFM, we support all of the NFM Family and believe in valuing and respecting all individuals.

Armed Forces - Proudly Supporting All Who Serve

Military Veterans

NFM is proud to lead our industry in employing military veterans. Whether it's Veterans Day or any day, current and former service individuals are a celebrated part of the NFM family. Veterans enrich our community and company with their unique perspective. We believe it is vitally important to help veterans find meaningful and gainful careers after serving. Military service is even part of NFM's history. Louis Blumkin, the only son of founder Rose Blumkin, was a decorated Army veteran who landed on Omaha beach during D‑Day.

We Support Those Who Serve

NFM proudly employs both those who have and continue to serve in the military. We're so proud, in fact, that we dedicate an entire week to our veterans! Military service is an integral part of NFM's history and who we are as a company. From our Veterans of yesterday like Louis Blumkin to our Veterans of today, your service matters to us.
