Does NFM do background checks or other testing of applicants?

Nebraska Furniture Mart is dedicated to providing a safe work environment for our staff. If you are offered a position, you will be asked to complete a pre-employment drug screen before your first day. We also conduct thorough criminal background checks and, if applicable, credit checks, driving record and back screens (tests that assess the strength and flexibility of your back) as well. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful results of these assessments.

Does NFM offer training for new staff?

Yes! You will receive paid training related to your new job to ensure that your career with NFM begins successfully. We offer a number of courses for staff at every level of the organization through our training department, which we refer to as "Furniture University." Some of these courses include:

• Customer Service Skills
• Quality Improvement Process
• Supervisory Skills
• Selling Skills
• Career Development

If that weren't enough, we also offer Tuition Reimbursement benefits to full-time and part-time staff.
